May 2017 - Pangbourne College
The band was recently involved in Pangbourne College's Brass Day. We rehearsed music with Pangbourne College children in the morning and performed in a concert that afternoon, held in The Falklands Chapel. The head of instrumental music at the college, Jeremy Clack, thanked the band and said that he thought the band sounded superb. Mr Clack mentioned our newest member, Tom Harvey (pictured), whom he thought was exceptional: 'a very gifted young musician with a great future ahead'.
Tom is this years winner of the Henry Fuller Cup and has also recently been awarded a music scholarship at Pangbourne College.
The band will be returning to the college on Saturday 3 June to provide music for the Classic Car Show. Over a hundred vintage, classic and rare cars will be on display on the parade ground, with representatives from the Pangbourne supercar site. We will be playing a selection of popular tunes and classical favourites from 12 noon until 2.15pm outside The Falklands Chapel. Admission is free and there will be refreshments available throughout the day provided by Kingdom Coffee, with proceeds donated to the College Centenary fund supporting local charities.
